An Adirondack Women’s Retreat

November 13–15, 2026

Come away for a little while to the Adirondacks in autumn.

The roads grow quiet. The last leaves have fallen. And woodsmoke hangs in the cold air.

This November, you are invited to join us for a rather different sort of women’s retreat.

For three days, we will gather in a secluded corner of the Adirondack Mountains—to eat wonderful food, walk in the woods, sit beside a real fire, talk late into the afternoon, ask questions, tell stories, and make room for all those curious things we rarely have enough time to explore.

And bring a good pair of walking shoes.

Around the Fire with Maren

Bring your questions.

Questions about consciousness, life, death, the things we know, the things we cannot quite explain, and those peculiar experiences that have stayed with you for years.

Bring your curiosity.

A Weekend in the Adirondacks

Our days will have a comfortable rhythm.

We will begin with good food and hot coffee, tea, or chocolate; venture outdoors for beautiful daily hikes; gather for conversation and activities; and return to the warmth of the fire as the November afternoon begins to fade.

There will also be time to simply there.

To walk.

To read.

To talk with someone you have only just met.

To stand beside the lake or wander through the woods without needing to accomplish anything at all.

And because a gathering is only as good as the table around which everyone eventually lands, all of our retreat meals are included, with an emphasis on wonderful, thoughtfully prepared farm-to-table food.

The Particulars

Friday, November 13 – Sunday, November 15, 2026

Retreat Tuition: $500 per person

Your retreat fee includes the weekend program, fireside gatherings, activities, guided group hikes, and meals throughout the retreat.

*Lodging and transportation are not included.

Our gathering will take place at a private retreat setting in the southern Adirondacks of New York. In keeping with the intimate nature of the weekend, the exact location and arrival information will be provided to registered guests.

Coming From Afar?

For those flying in, Albany International Airport (ALB) will generally be the most convenient major airport for the southern Adirondacks. Burlington International Airport (BTV) and Plattsburgh International Airport (PBG) are additional options, depending upon your flight arrangements. The Adirondack tourism office identifies Albany and Burlington among the principal airports serving the region, along with Plattsburgh and other smaller regional airports. Visit Adirondacks

We strongly recommend arranging a rental car or sharing transportation with another retreat guest, as this is mountain country and public transportation is limited.

A Place to Stay

Guests may select their own accommodations, allowing you to choose anything from a simple room to a more traditional Adirondack inn.

For something small and old-fashioned, Cornerstone Victorian B & B in Warrensburg is one option.

For straightforward accommodations, Super 8 by Wyndham Lake George/Warrensburg Area is nearby.

Those wishing to stay in Lake George might consider Courtyard by Marriott Lake George or Holiday Inn Resort Lake George - Adirondack Area by IHG.

There are numerous additional inns, hotels, vacation rentals, and small lodges throughout the surrounding Adirondack communities. Because November is outside the traditional summer season, we recommend confirming seasonal operating dates directly with your chosen property before booking.

Once you have registered, we will send the precise retreat location so that you can choose the lodging that best suits you.

If you are interested, the cabin has 6 beds in a shared space. For more information on these accommodations, please email maren@marenmuter.com

What to Bring

Bring warm layers, comfortable clothes, sturdy walking shoes, and something cozy for evenings by the fire.

Bring a notebook if you like.

Bring a book you may never open.

Bring the questions that have been following you around.

Most of all, come prepared for three days in which you do not have to hurry anywhere.
