Homework.
This week, your task is to get the story on paper—not a polished, perfect version, but the full arc of your story in whatever form it takes. Don't worry about making it pretty; just get the bones of it down.
1. Short Children's Book Writers:
Write the entire story from beginning to end. It doesn’t have to be formatted or finalized, but capture the full journey so we can refine it together.
2. Long-Format Writers (Non-fiction, Novel, Middle Grade, YA, or Adult Books):
Choose one of the following:
Write the full story (if you're still in the brainstorming phase).
Write the last chapter. Even if you're not there yet, drafting the ending will give you clarity on where the story is headed.
3. The Hardest Scene:
Write the scene that has been giving you the most trouble. Maybe it’s a major turning point, an emotional moment, or a tricky piece of dialogue—whatever it is, just get it down on paper. We’ll work through it together.
The goal is progress over perfection—once it’s written, we can shape it into something great.
