Words Penned by a 17th Century Spanish Nun
In my lifetime I have come across a few things written that have captured my heart. I have even picked up my own pen and somehow even managed to write a couple of books of my own. But I'm not much of an author, not like she is. Here are a few words she wrote. All evidence points to the fact that Sor Maria de Jesus was able to enter into the realms beyond this 3-dimentional world that Maren mentions in her interview with Jeff.
One day while my soul sweetly lingered about that holy place I have come to adore, I heard the voice of my Lord, calling out to me:
‘My beloved spouse, I desire that you immediately open your eyes. Arouse, and quickly come so that I may enjoy the fervent love you possess for Me. My dearest soul, make your life more angelic than human, and pay no attention to the world, with all its concerns and distractions.
Come to Me now. Consider My unlimited greatness, and your smallness. Because I love you, I have l rescued you from the dust and the dunghills. My dearest soul, I am calling out your name. From the depths of your humility, knowing very well the unrelenting fear and suffering from where you come – wake yourself.
Come closer now, and let your sweet order linger near me. This makes me happy. Listen to Me. You must be convinced that you only deserve suffering. But do not worry because you are My beloved servant. Come to Me. Never forget My greatness. Be comforted in your smallness, knowing that I am a just and holy God. With My heartfelt compassion I bathe you with My mercy and set aside the chastisement you deserve. Strive to build upon this foundation: your sincere humility, and My favors.
Embrace the other virtues. Draw them near. Decorate yourself with them and thus, fulfill My command. My Mother will protect, teach, correct, and guide you. She will help awaken your Love for Me, and She will keep you company, in all ways, in all places, and in all times.'”
